In a concerning incident, two suspects are being sought by the Detroit police for allegedly attempting to rob a uniformed police officer at a BP gas station located at the intersection of Joy and Southfield roads. The incident took place on Saturday, June 10, when the officer had stopped at the gas station before their shift.
According to Detroit Police Chief James White, the officer was inside the gas station making a purchase when one of the male suspects reportedly made a grab for the officer's firearm. A struggle ensued between the officer and the suspect, resulting in the officer successfully subduing the suspect and regaining control of their weapon. However, the situation escalated when a second male suspect approached and aimed a gun at the officer.
As of Friday evening, the police are still actively searching for the two suspects involved in the incident.
