Texas Woman Charged After Holding 4-Month Old Out Of Third Floor Window

In a disturbing incident reported by Harris County Constable Precinct 4, a woman now faces charges of child endangerment for her alleged actions that involved dangling her 4-month-old infant from a window. The occurrence took place at the Venti Apartment complex, situated in the 14300 block of Ella Boulevard in north Harris County.

According to court records, multiple calls were made to the police, detailing the presence of a woman named Gre'Ondria Whitfield, who, reportedly, made threats to kill her child while holding them precariously from a window on the third floor of her apartment. Witnesses at the scene, filled with concern, desperately pleaded with Whitfield and even resorted to forcefully breaking down her door, which unfortunately led her to retaliate by pointing a gun at one of them.

Upon receiving the distressing reports, law enforcement swiftly responded, prioritizing the safety of the vulnerable infant and promptly detaining Whitfield. She currently remains in custody, facing charges of child endangerment and aggravated assault, while her bail has been set at $40,000. Her impending court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.

Shannon Ryan from ABC13 had an opportunity to speak with a neighbor, who insisted on preserving their anonymity due to safety considerations. This eyewitness vividly recalled the intense moments, revealing that Whitfield emerged from her apartment armed with a firearm and clutching the baby, instantly instilling a sense of urgency and concern among those present. In response, a collective decision was made to maintain a safe distance, ensuring personal well-being, while still keeping a vigilant eye on the unfolding situation. The witnesses wisely refrained from exacerbating Whitfield's already erratic state, opting to patiently wait for the arrival of law enforcement professionals.
